#NigeriaDecides2023 Know the Figure

Dec 18, 2022

KDI, in fulfilment of her commitment to making democratic data accessible for all, analyzed the final list of candidates that INEC released ahead of the 2023 general elections.

KDI has produced this document to make disaggregated data of the final list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) available to stakeholders. KDI has drawn patterns and trends on how political parties in Nigeria fielded candidates for the presidential/NASS election coming up on the 25th of February 2023 and Governorship and State Houses of Assembly coming up on the 11th of March 2023 in 28 States. Secondly, these analyses aim to enhance credible voter education so that we can have a well-informed electorate ahead of the election. While all the political parties have fielded candidates for the presidential election, the real strength of each political party was majorly demonstrated in the subnational elections.
